Rules of Play

All events will begin with Individual Participant Check-In on-site at the event.
Format
4 Runners (2 male + 2 female)
CANNOT race with less than 4 runners.
Individual 3-Mile Run (all runners will complete the 3-Mile Course)

Sport Specific Rules
Each team will be given a Bib Packet at check-in containing a separate bib for each runner. These bibs will be equipped with a timing tag that will capture the start and finish time of each runner on your team.
All participants will start the race and complete the course at the same time.
Scoring
A team score will be an accumulation of each team member’s finish place.
Values will be ranked lowest (first) – highest (last) for each Division.
Late Team / Forfeit Rule
A team not checked-in at the start of the race will be forfeit.

Format
4 players (2 male + 2 female)
- Substitute players are NOT ALLOWED. Only 4 participants may compete in this event.
- CANNOT play with less than 4 players.
Each team member will play 3 games, for a total of 12 Team Games.
Total team score will be placed against the Division. Top 6 move on to Championship Round.
Tiebreaker: Sudden Death Playoff
In the event that 2 or more teams are tied at the end of 3 rounds, 1 person from each team will compete in a single round to break the tie. Play will continue the necessary number of games until the tie is broken.
Championship Round
- Top 6 Teams in each division will move on to the Championship Round.
- Scores will be carried over to the Championship Round.
- Each team member will play 3 Games, for a total of 12 Team Games.
- Total team score will be placed against the other 5 teams.
Equipment
Pop-A-Shot Machines, Provided.
Sport Specific Rules
- Full Teams will be loaded into the queue for play as they arrive.
- Team will report their play order to the scorekeeper.
- One person from each team will play one game before rotating to the next team member.
- The Top 6 teams in the Division will then move on to the Championship Round.
- In the event of a machine malfunction, the participant will be granted a redo.
Late Team / Forfeit Rule
A team not fully present at their scheduled competition time will be skipped in order to maintain the schedule.
Once the final teams in the division begin, late teams are no longer eligible.

Format
10 players (5 male + 5 female)
- May play with 9 players (4 male + 4 female min.)
- May play with a minimum of 8 players (4 male + 4 female)
- Substitute players are ENCOURAGED.

4-inning Games
Extra Innings
If game is tied at the end of 4 innings, a new inning will be started, and the player who recorded the last out in the previous inning will start on 2nd base.
Equipment
NO METAL CLEATS ALLOWED (Rubber or Molded Cleats, or Tennis Shoes ONLY)
Game ball will be provided.
Bats – Bring your own. Must be USSSA, ASA, or NSA regulated.
Glove/Mitt – Bring your own.
Sport Specific Rules
All games will be umpired by a certified official.
Batting
Players will submit their batting lineup to the umpire at the beginning of each game. Players must use this lineup for the duration of the game. (No gender requirement for batting lineup. Coed split still applies).
You may only have 10 players in the batting order at a time.
Each game will begin with a coin-toss to decide Home/Away team. In the Championship Game, the undefeated team will receive Home Team honors. If the “if necessary” game is needed, a coin-flip will determine Home/Away team.
Team 3-Pitch Rule
- A member of your own team will pitch to your batters.
- You will receive a maximum of 3 pitches per at bat. One of them must be in play (not a foul ball) or you will be declared out.
- The pitcher can be substituted at any time.
Offensive Interference:
- If a batted ball touches the pitcher, the batter will be declared out.
- If a batted ball touches a base runner, the runner will be declared out.
- If a runner interferes with a fielder’s attempt to make a play on any ball, the runner will be declared out.
Courtesy runners may be used once per inning (must be same sex)
- If courtesy runner is in batting order, and is still on base for their turn to bat, their at-bat will be declared an out.
Bunting is NOT ALLOWED.
Intentional Walks are NOT ALLOWED.
Fielding
Each team MUST have a catcher. There are no other restrictions to defensive set-up.
Defensive Interference
- A fielder may not hinder a runner’s path to the base unless making a play on a batted ball, or fielding a thrown ball.
Runner will be awarded one base on an overthrow out of play.
Substitutions
Players may substitute during the middle of any inning. Players that substitute must remain in/out for one full inning.
Safety Line
This is an extended line, next to home plate.
- Runners advancing to home, will cross this line instead of touching home plate.
- Runners that touch home plate will be declared out.
- All plays made at home will be a force out, using the home plate/safety line as the base.
Mercy Rule
A team leading by 10 or more runs after 3 innings will be declared winner
Inning Run Limit
A team may only score a maximum of 10 runs per inning
- Exception: Team can score unlimited runs in the Final Inning.
Late Team / Forfeit Rule
A team will receive a 10-minute grace period to take the field for their first game only.
In case of inclement weather, tournament will be modified to 3-inning games.
After your first two rounds, game times are subjected to change. If not present at the start of your game, your game will be forfeited!

Format
6 players (3 male + 3 female)
- May play with 5 players (at least 2 females + 2 males)
- May play with a minimum of 4 players (at least 1 female + 1 male)
Double-Elimination Tournament
Best of 3-Game Series, Win by 2 points (To: 15, 15, 15) (Cap: 17, 17, 17)
Equipment
Game Volleyballs Provided. May use own ball if agreed upon with the opposing team captain. Please bring your own ball to warm up with.
Sport Specific Rules
All matches will be refereed by a certified official.
Starting the Game
A coin flip, or rock-paper-scissors, will start each game. Winner will choose to serve, or choose their side of the court. Teams will switch sides of the court in-between each game.
Game Play (All Rules come from the USA Volleyball Rule Book)
Serving
- Players must rotate clockwise before serving the ball.
- All Service attempts may be made anywhere behind the end line.
- Rotational Fault: Point to opposing team if you have been found to have served out of order.
- Attacking the Serve: A player is disallowed to complete an attack hit on the opponent’s service, if at the moment of the hit, the ball is entirely higher than the top of the net.
Playing the Ball
- Each team is allowed 3 contacts. Any additional contact is considered a fault. A LEGAL BLOCK is not considered a single contact.
- The ball may contact any part of the body to remain in play. (Kicked balls are Legal)
- A player may have multiple contacts (more than 2) on the first team contact. The contact must be a single attempt at playing the ball to be legal. On second and third team contacts, double hits (multiple contacts) are a fault.
- A ball that is caught or thrown, is a fault.
- The ball must travel over the net, and between the antennae to be legal.
- A player is allowed to extend their hands across the net, as long as the opponent has made their last playing contact.
- Ball “IN”: The ball will be declared “in” if any part of the ball contacts the sand, including the boundary lines.
- Ball “OUT”: The ball will be declared “out” when all parts of the ball contact completely outside the boundary lines.
- Blocking: Any attempt to deflect the ball while in the front zone, with any body part above the net, is considered a block.
- Illegal Back Row Attack: It is illegal for a back-row player to complete an attack hit from the front zone, if at the moment of the hit, the ball is entirely higher than the top of the net.
Contact with the Net / Antennae
- Contact with the net by a player between the antennas, during the action of playing the ball, is a fault.
- Players may touch the post, ropes, or any other object outside the antennae, provided that it does not interfere with play.
- When the ball is driven into the net, causing it to touch an opponent, no fault is committed.
- Hair contacting the net is not a net fault.
Substitutions
- Unlimited substitutions may be made ONLY at the server position. Players DO NOT need to make a full rotation prior to subbing out. Injured players may sub out from any position.
- A player is restricted only to the player they substituted for.

A team will receive a 10-minute grace period to take the field for their first game only.
After your first two rounds, game times are subjected to change. If not present at the start of your game, your game will be forfeited!

Format

- 2 Players from your team will be paired with 2 Players from another team for play (no gender designation required).
- Substitute players are NOT ALLOWED. Only 4 participants may compete in this event.
- CANNOT play with less than 4 players.
Each player will play 17 Holes, Lowest Combined Team Score will be placed against the field
Tie Breaker: Card-Off
In the event two, or more, teams complete the course with the same score, a Card-Off will be used to break the tie. Scores will be compared in reverse order on the scorecard. The team with the lower score on the more recent hole will be determined the winner of the card-off.
Equipment
May bring your own putter.
Sweeties Golfland Putters will be available on-site.
Players must use a Sweeties Golfland Ball for play.
Sport Specific Rules
Players are to start and complete the hole before the next player takes his or her turn.
Players may not switch clubs or balls at any time during the competition.
Only the putter head of the putter may strike the ball.
Players must start each hole from the starting pad.
If a Player’s ball roll back to the starting point, but does not leave the playing area, play will resume from that point. If a ball rolls off the playing area, a one-stroke penalty will be incurred, and he or she may restart from the starting pad.
If a ball should leave the playing surface, it must be placed at the closest point to where it left the course, and a one-stroke penalty will be incurred.
A player is entitled to moved his or her ball a club head length away from any side wall, or obstacle.
If a ball bounces off the bottom of the cup, and out of the hole, the putt counts as a make.
The maximum number of strokes a player can take is 6 per hole. If you already have 6 strokes and have not made your ball in the cup, you are to pick up your ball and mark your score as a 6.
Late Team / Forfeit Rule
Teams must arrive by end of scheduled window to be eligible to compete.

Format

- CANNOT play with less than 4 players.
Each player will play 4 games, total of 16 games per team.
Championship Round
- Top 6 Teams in each Division will advance to the Championship Round.
- Scores will be carried over to the Championship Round.
- Each player will play 3 additional games, total of 12 games per team.
- Total Team Score (Qualifying Score + Championship Score) will be placed against the other 5 teams in the Championship Round.

Double-Elimination Tournament
Object of the Game: Score 21 Points before the opposing team
NO BUST – The first team to 21, or more, points wins. There is NO penalty for exceeding 21 points.
NO SKUNK – There is NO mercy rule. All games will be played to 21 points.

Sport Specific Rules
Team Members
- All 4 Players will compete in each match.
- Teams will place 2 players at one end of the court, and 2 players at the other end (no gender requirement).
How-To-Play
- Player 1 for each team will throw 2 bags DOWN.
- Player 2 for each team will throw the other 2 bags DOWN.
- This completes the half-turn.
- Player 3 for each team will throw 2 bags BACK.
- Player 4 for each team will throw the other 2 bags BACK.
- This completes the full-turn.
- Repeat until one team reaches 21 points, or more.
- Alternate teams each throw.
- Bags will be thrown one-at-a-time until a complete stop on the board.
- The team that scored points in the previous turn, will throw their first bag first.
- Player may choose side of board to throw from, for each bag.
- Player’s feet should not project past the front of their board during a toss.
- Any bag that hits the ground prior to landing on the surface of the Cornhole Board do not count as a legal throw, and are to immediately be removed from the landing area.
Scoring
- The team that scored points in the previous turn, will throw their first bag first.
- 3 Points: Bags that progress through the hole of the board.
- 1 Point: Bags that land on the surface of the board.
- All bags that are thrown must remain where they are until points are tallied.
- After all bags have been thrown, points for each team will be tallied, and the difference will be awarded to the team with the higher score in that round.
Example:- Team A scores 8 points.
- Team B scores 3 points.
- Difference = 5 points.
- Team A is awarded 5 points.

- If courtesy runner is in batting order, and is still on base for their turn to bat, their at-bat will be declared an out.
- All kicks must occur at or behind home plate. Kicks made in front of the plate will be declared foul, and count as 1 of your 3 available pitches.
Offensive Interference
- If a batted ball touches the pitcher, the batter will be declared out.
- If a batted ball touches a base runner, the runner will be declared out.
- If a runner interferes with a fielder’s attempt to make a play on any ball, the runner will be declared out. All other runners will return to their last occupied base.
Bunt Line: The bunt line is a rounded line in front of the pitcher’s mound that extends to the baseline on either side of the field.
- Batters: In order for a Kick to be legal, the ball must roll on or past the bunt line before coming to a complete stop. If the ball stops within the zone, it will be declared foul.
- Fielders: May not move in front of the bunt line until the ball is kicked. If the ball is touched by a fielder inside the zone before declared foul, the ball is live and in play. The fielder can choose to make a play on the ball, or take a chance the ball will stop before touching the bunt line.
Fielding
- There are no restrictions regarding player positioning on the field
- Runner will be awarded one base on an overthrow out of play. Umpires discretion.
- Fielders can record an out in any of the following ways:
- Catching a fly ball
- Stepping on lead base while in possession of the ball
- Tagging batter/runner with the ball while not on base
- Striking batter/runner with the ball, below the neck, while not on base
- If the batter/runner is struck by the ball in the head/neck area while sliding, ducking, or dodging the ball, the runner will be declared out.
Defensive Interference

Sport Specific Rules
Team Members
- All 4 Players will compete in each match.
- Best of 3 Game Series
- Game 1 - First 2 players on-court.
- Game 2 - Other 2 players on-court.
- Game 3 - If needed, choose any 2 players to compete.
Starting the Game
- A coin-toss or “rock-paper-scissors” will determine first serve.
- The team with the first serve will start with the score "0-0-2". This means the initial serving team will only play one server before turning it over to the other team.
Serving
- Both players on your team have the opportunity to serve and score until they commit a fault / lose the rally.
- If a point is scored, the same server will initiate the next serve.
- If a point is not scored, the second server will initiate the next serve.
- When a point is not scored by the second server, the serve will change sides.
- Serve from the RIGHT SIDE if your score is even (0,2,4,6,8,10)
- Serve from the LEFT SIDE if your score is odd (1,3,5,7,9)
- All serves must be struck under-hand.
- Serves must be made behind the end-line.
- The serve is made diagonally crosscourt and must land within the confines of the opposite diagonal court.
Two-Bounce Rule
- When the ball is served, the receiving team must let it bounce before returning.
- When the ball is returned, the serving team must let it bounce before returning.
- After the ball has bounced once in each team’s court, both teams may either volley the ball (hit the ball before it bounces) or play it off a bounce.
Scoring
- Points are scored ONLY by the serving team.
- Game 1 & 2, Play to 7 points.
- Game 3, if necessary, Play to 5 points.
Non-Volley Zone “The Kitchen”
- The non-volley zone is the court area within 7-feet on both sides of the net.
- Volleying (hit the ball before it bounces) is prohibited in this zone.
- A fault will occur if, a player Volleying the ball, steps on the non-volley zone, or momentum carries them into the zone after a Volley.
- A player may legally be in the non-volley zone any time other than when volleying the ball.
Line Calls
- A ball contacting any part of any line, except the non-volley zone line on a serve, is considered “in”.
- A serve contacting the non-volley zone line is short and a fault.

Format

Each player will bowl 2 games, league style (switching lanes every frame)
Equipment
Bring your own Bowling Ball + Shoes.
Lane Balls + Lane Shoes available on-site.
Sport Specific Rules
- Each team shall consist of 4 participants.
- Each player will bowl two games.
- The combined score of both games, for all four bowlers, will be added together to give the team one total score.
- In case of a tie, one bowler from each team involved will bowl the 10th frame. Winner of that frame will be given the advantage.
Late Team / Forfeit Rule:
If no members of the team are present at the start of the competition, the team will forfeit their first game. Team is still eligible to play second game.
If team members are late, the missing individual can be skipped in the order using the ‘skip’ function on the scoreboard. This team member has until the beginning of frame 5 in the first game to arrive. Once the bowler arrives, allow them to catch up in the game. If they are too late, they must be skipped the remainder of the game, and are eligible to play in the second game.

Format
6 runners (3 male + 3 female)
- CANNOT race with less than 6 runners.
Relay-Race (1 mile loop each leg)
Equipment
Team Relay Baton, provided
Sport Specific Rules
- Each team will be given a Team Relay Baton to run with throughout the race.
- Each runner will complete their leg of the race, then exchange the baton to the next runner in the designated zone.
- Runner #1 will run approximately 1.2 miles.
- Runner #2 - #6 will run approximately 1 mile.
- The anchor, or last runner, will bypass the exchange zone, and end their run in the finish-line chute.
- Runners must remain in order of finish in the chute until their baton has been pulled by race officials.
- Scoring and determination of finish will be based on final elapsed time for all members of the relay team.
Late Team / Forfeit Rule:
A team not fully checked-in at the start of the race will be forfeit.

Format
Participation is REQUIRED
At least 1 representative.
Five (5) points will be awarded to each Corporate Cup team participating in the 1 Mile Fun Walk.
Anyone is eligible to walk. The purpose of the event is to encourage all company employees and their families to participate in the Corporate Challenge.
This is a non-competitive event.

10 Tuggers (5 female + 5 male), + 1 Cadence Caller

- Substitute tuggers are ENCOURAGED.
Double-Elimination Tournament
Equipment
Tug Rope (provided) - The rope will be 2 inches in diameter, 150 feet long, made of hemp.
Long-sleeved shirts REQUIRED to be worn by all participants.
Gloves are HIGHLY RECOMMENDED.
NO CLEATS, SPIKES, STUDS, HOBNAILS, or METAL FITTINGS. Boots or tennis shoes must be worn.
Sport Specific Rules
- Teams will be lined up so that the rope will be pulled on the right side (under the participants’ right arms). The anchor (the last person) will be safely tied in by event staff.
- Males and females will be alternate positions on the rope.
- One Cadence Caller per team will be permitted on the line to assist the team. It will be the Cadence Callers responsibility to notify the official that the team is ready to tug.
- The tug will be started on the command of the official. The team that pulls the rope 12 feet from the center first, will be declared the winner. A whistle or horn will signal the end of the tug.
- There will be a 90-second time limit on each tug.
- Prior to the beginning of the pull, no participant may “dig-in” to the ground.
- The anchor is the only member of the team who may touch the ground with his/her hands.
- No other team member is permitted to sit on the ground for more than 5 seconds, including the anchor.
- All tugs will be conducted on a natural grass surface.
- No electric sound systems, horns, whistles, etc. may be used in encouraging teams. This means anything other than the human voice is not permitted.
- No sticky substances may be used on hands or gloves.
- A minimum of 5 minutes rest between tugs will be permitted.
Late Team / Forfeit Rule:
A team that is not present at the start of their divisions’ tournament will be forfeit.

Relay Race
Each team member will complete their station of obstacles, then tag their teammate to complete the next station.

Sport Specific Rules
- Teams will designate one participant per station on the course.
- Each participant must complete their station of obstacles before tagging their next team member to complete the next station.
- The order of males and females DOES NOT MATTER.
- Each team will run the course one time. The Top 6 teams will advance to the Championship Round.
Scoring
- Each completed obstacle will count as 1 point.
- Teams will be ranked by POINTS accrued from completed obstacles.
- Teams will then be ranked by TOTAL TEAM TIME to complete the course.
Late Team / Forfeit Rule
A team not fully present by the end of their division’s first run-through will forfeit.
